Discover the unique Train & Geological Adventure experience, an offering from the Maison de la Terre de Haute-Alsace in partnership with the Train Thur Doller Alsace. This combo ticket combines a ride on a historic train with a fascinating 3.5-hour geological tour, led by enthusiastic volunteers, to explore rocks, landscapes, and a cave known as the “Wolf Cave.”
An Unforgettable Experience
Board the train at Cernay St-André Station (10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays or 10:30 a.m. on Sundays) and arrive in Sentheim for a 3.5-hour exploration.
On the itinerary:
- Total walking distance: 6.1 km – approximately 1 hour 40 minutes
- Visit to the Wolf Cave
- Exploration of the area’s natural geological treasures
- Visit to the Sentheim Geology Museum
5:00 PM – Guided return to Sentheim Station
5:30 PM Take the afternoon train back to Cernay St-André Station, arriving at 6:30 PM
Dates
Every Sunday from June through September, as well as Wednesdays in July and August (except on days when special-fare themed trains are running).
Prices
- Adults (ages 14 and up): 16€
- Children (ages 4–13): 12€
- Children (ages 0–3): Free
Practical information:
Wear sturdy shoes; walking sticks are recommended. Dogs on a leash are welcome; groups are limited to 16 people.
Cancellation
In the event of inclement weather that prevents the activity from taking place as planned, the Maison de la Terre de Haute-Alsace reserves the right to cancel a session of the Geological Adventure Train experience. Affected participants will be notified and fully refunded to ensure their satisfaction and safety.
